Refuge Hope Ghana is a humanitarian, non-governmental organization established by individuals who have witnessed firsthand the struggles, suffering, and resilience of poor and vulnerable people—especially refugees and displaced persons.
Our work is driven by a deep understanding of the challenges faced by refugees who have lost family connections, social stability, and access to basic opportunities. We are committed to restoring dignity, rebuilding hope, and supporting refugees to reintegrate meaningfully into society, whether they reside within refugee camps or in host communities.
The inspiration behind Refuge Hope Ghana emerged from extensive research and lived experiences following the influx of refugees from Liberia into Ghana during the 1990s, as a result of the civil war and political instability in Liberia. Many of these individuals arrived with little or nothing, separated from their families and stripped of opportunities to rebuild their lives.
In response, our organization was formed to help reconnect families, promote self-reliance, and empower refugees to rediscover their purpose and potential. Through education, livelihood support, psychosocial care, and community integration programs, we work to ensure that refugees are not only supported but are able to live dignified, productive, and fulfilling lives.
